there she was, standing
dressed in black, looking stunning as ever
i wanted to reach out and touch her
make her feel loved and wanted

have tried to tell her several times
it just doesnt work the way it was to
living in the dreams and thoughts
wanting it to live through

she came along, lively as always
wanting to take me by my hand
i never understood the meaning
never did i realize the intentions

i was always living in my shell
never wanting to get out,
she wanted me to discover myself,
never did it happen through

something was strangling me
she taught me to breathe easy
she bought me hope,
by cutting each and every rope

Since then I dream that once
